Burger Ingredients

Caramelized Onion-Bacon Jam Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined and form into two equally sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach the desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of brie cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Caramelized Onion-Bacon Jam Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from skillet and let drain on paper towels. Once cooled, chop into small pieces.

  2. 4

    Caramelize the Onions

In the same skillet, remove excess bacon fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add olive oil and onions. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Bacon and Seasonings

Add the chopped bacon, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the caramelized onions. Stir well and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

Toast the burger buns until golden brown. Place a patty on each bun, topped generously with the caramelized onion-bacon jam. Close the burger with the top bun and serve immediately.
