Method

Eggs

  1. 1

    Cook the Eggs

In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, crack the two eggs and cook to your desired doneness, either sunny-side up, over easy, or scrambled. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Steak

  1. 2

    Cook the Sirloin Steak

Season the 7 oz sirloin steak with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Home Fries or Stone Ground Grits

  1. 3

    Prepare Home Fries

Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. In a skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 4

    Prepare Stone Ground Grits

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Stir in 1 cup of stone ground grits and add salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Stir in 2 tbsp of butter before serving.

Bread or Biscuit

  1. 5

    Toast Bread or Bake Biscuit

If using whole grain bread, toast the slices until golden brown. If using a buttermilk biscuit, bake according to package instructions or your favorite recipe until golden and fluffy.
