Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the seasoned beef mixture into one 8 oz. burger patty, ensuring it is compact but not overly packed.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the burger patty on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Melt the Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place the slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

While the burger is cooking, slice the burger bun in half and toast it lightly if desired.

  2. 7

    Add the Toppings

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, red onion slices, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled burger and serve immediately.
