Preparing the Burger Patty

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick.
Cooking the Burger

Cook the First Side
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.

Add Cheese and Cook
Add your choice of cheese (Tillamook Sharp Cheddar or Tillamook Swiss) on top of each patty after flipping. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.
Assembling the Burger

Toast the Bun
Toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Prepare the Bun
Spread chipotle mayo on the bottom half of the toasted bun.

Add Burger Patty
Place the cooked burger patty on top of the mayo-covered bun.

Add Toppings
Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles if desired.

Complete the Burger
Finish assembling the burger by placing the top half of the bun over the toppings.
