Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub each steak with olive oil, and season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat. If using a grill pan, heat it over medium-high heat on the stove.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steaks

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust according to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Rosemary

During the last minute of grilling, add fresh rosemary sprigs on top of the steaks for flavor. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 7

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve a crispy texture.

  3. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a heavy pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 9

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain and pat dry the soaked potatoes. Carefully add a handful of potatoes to the hot oil and fry for about 5-6 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 10

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, season them with salt and paprika to taste. Repeat with the remaining potatoes.
