Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned steaks on the hot grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and grill for another 3-5 minutes for medium rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Drain the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are tender, drain them in a colander and return to the pot.

  3. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust milk for desired consistency.

  4. 9

    Serve

Spoon the mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the grilled ribeye steak.
