Crust Preparation
- 1
Prepare the crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the crust
Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool.
Filling Preparation
- 3
Mix cream cheese
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Combine ingredients
Gradually add the granulated sugar and mix until combined. Then, add the sour cream, vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- 5
Add eggs and flour
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just incorporated. Finally, add the flour and mix until smooth.
- 6
Pour filling into crust
Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- 7
Bake the cheesecake
Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.
- 8
Cool and chill
Turn off the oven and crack the oven door open. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven for about 1 hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Topping (optional)
- 9
Prepare topping (if desired)
In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread over the chilled cheesecake before serving.
