Main Ingredients

Method

Prepare the Russian Dressing

  1. 1

    Mix the Dressing

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the dressing is smooth and uniform.

Assemble the Reuben

  1. 2

    Layer the Ingredients

On two slices of marbled rye bread, spread a generous amount of the prepared Russian dressing. Layer the corned beef evenly on top, followed by the braised sauerkraut, and then add the Swiss cheese.

  2. 3

    Top and Prepare for Toasting

Spread more Russian dressing on the remaining two slices of rye bread and place them on top of the sandwiches, dressing side down.

Toast the Sandwiches

  1. 4

    Grill the Sandwiches

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or oil if desired. Place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve

  1. 5

    Slice and Enjoy

Once toasted, remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice them in half, and serve immediately. Enjoy your Reuben with additional Russian dressing on the side if desired.
