Combine Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Preheat the Pan
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with a small amount of butter or cooking spray.

Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
