Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with a small amount of butter or cooking spray.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Serve

Remove the pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve the pancakes warm with maple syrup and butter to taste.
