Method
Burger Patty
- 1
Prepare the Burger Patty
In a bowl, combine the ground chuck with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each one to prevent puffing during cooking.
Grilling
- 3
- 4
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty. Close the grill lid to allow the cheese to melt.
- 5
Grill the Jalapeños
While the patties are grilling, slice the jalapeños in half and remove the seeds (if desired). Grill the jalapeños for about 2-3 minutes until they are slightly charred and tender.
Assembly
- 6
Toast the Buns
While the patties and jalapeños are grilling, lightly toast the potato buns on the grill until golden brown.
- 7
Assemble the Burger
Spread chipotle mayo on the bottom half of each toasted potato bun. Place the grilled patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the grilled jalapeños. Top with the other half of the bun.
