Method

Preparation of the Batter

  1. 1

    Mix the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Cooking the French Toast

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

  2. 3

    Dip the Bread

Take one slice of Texas toast and dip it into the batter, ensuring both sides are fully coated.

  3. 4

    Cook the Toast

Place the battered toast in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.

  4. 5

    Repeat for Remaining Slices

Add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet as needed and repeat the dipping and cooking process for the remaining slices of toast.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve with Maple Syrup

Once all slices are cooked, serve warm with maple syrup drizzled over the top.
