Method
Brewing
- 1
Prepare Coffee Grounds
Measure 1 cup of coarse ground coffee. The coarser the grind, the less bitter the cold brew will taste.
- 2
Combine Coffee and Water
In a large pitcher or jar, combine the ground coffee with 4 cups of filtered water. Stir gently to ensure all the coffee grounds are saturated.
- 3
Steep
Cover the pitcher or jar and let the mixture steep at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours. The longer it steeps, the stronger the coffee will be.
- 4
Strain the Coffee
After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or a coffee filter into a clean container to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid.
- 5
Serve
Your cold brew coffee concentrate is ready! Serve it over ice and dilute with water, milk, or cream to your preferred strength.
Optional Add-ins
- 6
Flavor Your Cold Brew
If desired, add milk or cream, sugar or your preferred sweetener, and a splash of vanilla extract to enhance the flavor of your cold brew coffee.
