Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the egg mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the coconut topping

Spread the shredded coconut on a plate or shallow dish. This will be used to crust the French toast.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Coat the Texas toast

Dip each slice of Texas toast into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Allow excess mixture to drip off.

  2. 4

    Crust the toast

Immediately press each coated slice into the shredded coconut, covering both sides evenly.

  3. 5

    Cook the French toast

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil. Cook each slice for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the coconut is toasted.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the French toast

Once cooked, remove the French toast from the skillet and place on a serving plate.

  2. 7

    Add toppings

Drizzle with maple syrup and top with fresh fruit of your choice.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your Caribbean French toast!
