Omelet Base

Method

Preparing the Omelet

  1. 1

    Whisk the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, crack the 3 large eggs and add 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of black pepper. Whisk the mixture until well combined and frothy.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a non-stick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.

  3. 3

    Cook the Omelet Base

Pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Allow it to cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes, until the edges begin to set.

Adding Fillings

  1. 4

    Prepare the Fillings

While the omelet is cooking, slice the ripe avocado and fresh tomato into thin slices. If using, chop the fresh cilantro.

  2. 5

    Add the Fillings

Once the edges of the omelet are set but the middle is still slightly runny, dollop the 2 ounces of cream cheese on one half of the omelet. Layer the sliced avocado and tomato on top of the cream cheese, and sprinkle with chopped cilantro if desired.

  3. 6

    Fold and Finish Cooking

Carefully fold the omelet in half over the fillings using a spatula. Continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until the eggs are fully cooked and the cheese has softened.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Omelet

Gently slide the omelet onto a plate. You can garnish with additional cilantro if desired.

  2. 8

    Enjoy

Serve immediately while hot. Enjoy your California Omelet!
