Preparation
1. Preheat the Waffle Iron
Plug in your waffle iron and set it to medium-high heat to allow it to preheat while you prepare the batter.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, and malted milk powder until well combined.
3. Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the whole milk, eggs, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
4. Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
Cooking
5. Cook the Waffles
Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or a brush of melted butter. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the waffle iron (usually about 1 cup, depending on the size of your waffle iron). Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
6. Serve the Waffles
Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately with your favorite toppings such as whipped cream, fresh fruit, syrup, or chocolate chips.
