Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chuck with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove them from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Buns

Cut the potato buns in half and lightly toast them on a skillet or a toaster until they are golden brown.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Grill the Burger Patties

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shaped burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip them and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the cheese melts and the patties reach your desired doneness.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted potato bun, place a burger patty with melted cheese. Top with crispy bacon, a generous amount of fried onion straws, and drizzle BBQ sauce over the top. Finally, place the top half of the bun on each burger.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the BBQ burgers immediately with your choice of side, such as fries or a salad.
