Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium and any canning liquid.

  2. 2

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, water, and ground cumin.

  3. 3

    Process to Creamy Consistency

Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

  4. 4

    Season to Taste

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, lemon juice, or garlic according to personal preference.

  5. 5

    Serve

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle paprika over the top for an added flavor.

Garnishing

  1. 6

    Garnish the Hummus

Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle it on top of the hummus along with a dash of additional paprika for color.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 7

    Prepare the Serving Plate
