Hummus Preparation

Prepare the Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium and any canning liquid.

Blend Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, water, and ground cumin.

Process to Creamy Consistency
Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle paprika over the top for an added flavor.

Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle it on top of the hummus along with a dash of additional paprika for color.
