Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well blended.

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 2

    Marinate the Shrimp

Add the jumbo shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 3

    Skewering the Shrimp

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, leaving a small space between each shrimp.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Grill the Shrimp

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Souvlaki

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the skewers and arrange them on a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped fresh parsley before serving.
