Preparing the Hummus
1. Rinse Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess salt and preservatives.
2. Combine Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, salt, and water.
3. Blend
Pulse the food processor until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add additional water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
Serving the Hummus
5. Prepare Pita
Cut the pita bread into triangles or serve whole, as preferred.
6. Garnish
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle paprika on top and garnish with fresh parsley.
7. Serve
Serve the hummus with pita bread for dipping. Enjoy!
