Coffee Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
Measure Water
Pour 1 cup of cold water into a traditional Greek coffee pot (briki).
Add Coffee
Add 2 tablespoons of Greek coffee to the water in the briki.
Add Sugar (Optional)
If you prefer your coffee sweet, add 1 tablespoon of sugar at this stage and stir to combine.
Mix Ingredients
Stir the mixture gently to ensure that the coffee and sugar are fully dissolved in the water.
Heat the Coffee
Place the briki on low to medium heat. Allow the coffee to heat slowly, watching closely.
Froth the Coffee
As the coffee heats, it will begin to froth. Just before it reaches a boil, remove it from the heat to prevent overflow.
Repeat Heating
Return the briki to the heat and allow it to froth again. Remove from heat just before boiling. Repeat this process 2-3 times for a richer flavor.
Serve the Coffee
Pour the coffee into small cups, allowing the grounds to settle at the bottom of the briki. Serve immediately and enjoy!
