Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble and Bake Pizza

  1. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 9

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to your desired thickness on a floured surface.

  3. 10

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

  4. 11

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 12

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
