Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- 3
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 4
Shape the Pretzel
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and twist into a pretzel shape.
- 5
Boil the Pretzel
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the baking soda. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 6
Bake the Pretzel
Sprinkle the pretzels with Hawaiian black salt and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- 7
Prepare the Truffle Butter
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, black truffle oil, and chopped parsley until well combined.
- 8
Make the Beer Cheese
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the beer, sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir until melted and smooth.
- 9
Serve
Serve the baked pretzel hot with truffle butter and beer cheese on the side.
