Method

Preparing Hamburger Steak

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

  3. 3

    Cook Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Making Gravy

  1. 4

    Prepare Gravy Base

In the same skillet used for the patties, add beef broth and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer.

  2. 5

    Thicken Gravy

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Slowly add this mixture to the simmering broth while stirring until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper.

  3. 6

    Combine

Return the hamburger steaks to the skillet and coat them in the gravy. Keep warm.

Cooking Eggs

  1. 7

    Fry Eggs

In a separate skillet, fry the eggs to your desired doneness, sunny side up or over easy.

Cooking Rice

  1. 8

    Boil Water

In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and stir.

  2. 9

    Cook Rice

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

Making Macaroni Potato Salad

  1. 10

    Cook Macaroni

In a pot, cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 11

    Boil Potatoes

In a separate pot, boil diced potatoes until tender, about 10-15 minutes. Drain and let cool.

  3. 12

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni, cooled potatoes, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and chopped green onions. Mix well to combine.
