Teri Beef

Method

Teri Beef

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beef

Slice the beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips. Add the beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

  3. 3

    Cook the Beef

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Cook the beef for about 3-4 minutes per side or until it's cooked to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Mochiko Chicken

  1. 5

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, combine mochiko, soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 6

    Coat the Chicken

Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. Add the chicken pieces to the mochiko mixture and stir until well coated.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat oil over medium heat until hot (approximately 350°F or 175°C).

  4. 8

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Serve

Serve the mochiko chicken hot, alongside the teri beef.
