Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinade Preparation

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, and sesame oil. Stir until sugar is dissolved. This will be used for the Teri Glazed preparation.

  2. 2

    Miso Marinade

In another bowl, mix miso paste with honey and a bit of soy sauce for the Misoyaki Glazed preparation.

  3. 3

    Blackening Spice Prep

In a small bowl, combine blackening seasoning with a little vegetable oil to create a paste for the Blackened preparation.

  4. 4

    Furikake Coating

For Furikake Crusted, simply have the furikake seasoning ready to coat the fish before cooking.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Hibachi Grilled

Preheat the grill to high heat. Coat the fish in the marinade of your choice and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through.

  2. 6

    Teri Glazed

Sauté the fish in a pan over medium-high heat. Brush with the Teri marinade and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked through.

  3. 7

    Misoyaki Glazed

Sauté the fish in a pan over medium heat. Brush with miso marinade and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through and the glaze is bubbly.

  4. 8

    Blackened

Heat a skillet over high heat. Coat the fish in the blackening spice paste and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side until a dark crust forms and the fish is cooked through.

  5. 9

    Furikake Crusted

Coat the fish in furikake seasoning. Sauté in a hot pan with vegetable oil for about 3-4 minutes per side until crispy and cooked through.
