Poke Base

Method

Prepare Poke Base

  1. 1

    Dice Ahi Tuna

Using a sharp knife, cut the Ahi tuna into ½-inch cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Poke Ingredients

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, sliced green onions, and toasted sesame seeds to the bowl with the diced tuna. Gently toss to combine all ingredients without mashing the tuna.

Prepare Seaweed Salad

  1. 3

    Rehydrate Seaweed

In a bowl, soak the dried wakame seaweed in warm water for about 10 minutes until it expands and softens. Drain and set aside.

  2. 4

    Mix Seaweed Salad Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and sesame oil. Add the rehydrated seaweed and toss to coat evenly.

Serve

  1. 5

    Plate the Ahi Poke

Divide the Ahi poke mixture into serving bowls. Top with additional green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

  2. 6

    Serve with Seaweed Salad

Place a portion of the seaweed salad next to the Ahi poke on the plate and serve immediately.
