Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While the grill is heating, rub each chicken breast with olive oil, then season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Grill the Chicken

Once the grill is ready, place the seasoned chicken breasts on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

  3. 3

    Add BBQ Sauce

During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the BBQ sauce on both sides of the chicken breasts. Allow the sauce to caramelize slightly on the grill.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Toast the Buns

While the chicken is finishing up, slice the hamburger buns in half. Place them cut-side down on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.

  2. 5

    Build the Sandwich

Once the chicken is cooked and the buns are toasted, place each BBQ chicken breast on the bottom half of a bun. If using, top with coleslaw, pickles, and sliced red onion.

  3. 6

    Finish and Serve

Cap the sandwich with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side, if desired.
