Cooking the Pasta

Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making the Marinara Sauce

Prepare the Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes.

Making the Meatballs

Form the Meatballs

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well and form into large meatballs.

Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.

Assembly

Combine and Serve

Toss the cooked spaghetti with marinara sauce. Place a meatball on top and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese. Serve with breadsticks.
