Lasagna Ingredients
Method
Lasagna Directions
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and Italian sausage, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Add Mama Lorino's marinara sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
Cook the Lasagna Noodles
Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place 4 lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese and then more meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with noodles, meat sauce, and topping with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve
Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with garlic breadsticks on the side.
