Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, oats, chocolate chips, and M&Ms until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In another bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, into the butter mixture. Then stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Baking

  1. 6

    Scoop the Dough

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread.

  2. 7

    Bake the Cookies

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers appear set but still soft.

  3. 8

    Cool the Cookies

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
