Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the top sirloin steak. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, about 450-500°F (232-260°C).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Once the grill is hot, place the marinated steak on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Preparing the Regular Side

  1. 5

    Cook the Green Beans

In a pot of boiling water, add a pinch of salt and the green beans. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.

  2. 6

    Drain and Season

Drain the green beans and return them to the pot. Add butter and salt, toss to combine, and keep warm until serving.

Preparing the Premium Side (Optional)

  1. 7

    Make Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Boil peeled and cubed potatoes until fork-tender. Drain and mash with butter, garlic, milk, salt, and pepper to taste.
