Ingredients for Plain or Fiesta Poppers
Method
Directions for Plain or Fiesta Poppers
- 1
Prepare the Jalapeños
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice each jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes to reduce the heat, if desired. Place the halved jalapeños on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- 2
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 3
Stuff the Peppers
Using a small spoon or a piping bag, fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture. Make sure to pack the filling in tightly.
- 4
Drizzle with Olive Oil
Drizzle the olive oil over the stuffed jalapeños to enhance flavor and help with browning.
- 5
Bake the Poppers
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Remove the poppers from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the top for garnish. Serve warm.
