Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mozzarella
Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks about 1/2 inch wide and 4 inches long. Lay them out on a plate.
- 2
Set Up Breading Stations
In three separate bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Breading
- 3
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Take each mozzarella stick and first coat it in flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the bread crumb mixture. Ensure they are well-coated. Repeat until all sticks are breaded.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully add a few breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown, turning them occasionally to ensure even cooking.
- 6
Drain the Mozzarella Sticks
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 7
Serve with Marinara Sauce
Serve the hot mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
