Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the French Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the loaf of French bread in half horizontally and place it on a baking sheet.

  2. 2

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  3. 3

    Season the Beef

Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the beef. Stir well to combine, then pour in the beef stock. Let it simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

Spoon the seasoned beef mixture evenly onto the cut side of each French bread half. Sprinkle cheddar cheese generously on top of the beef.

  2. 5

    Bake the Horseshoes

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 6

    Add Toppings

Remove the horseshoes from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Top with diced tomatoes, pickles, sliced jalapeños, sour cream, and green onions.

  2. 7

    Serve

Slice into portions and serve immediately while hot and cheesy.
