Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, eggs, minced garlic, finely chopped onion, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried basil. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

With your hands, form the meat mixture into small balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Marsala Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent. Then add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened and browned.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

Pour in the Marsala wine and beef broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Bring the mixture to a simmer and allow it to cook for 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Add Sour Cream

Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream until well combined. Let it heat through without boiling.

  4. 7

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the skillet with the Marsala sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs in the sauce and heat for an additional 5 minutes.

  5. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the meatballs and sauce before serving. Enjoy your Joe's Special Marsala/Sour Cream Meatballs!
