Method

Ice Cream Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 2

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until completely chilled.

Flavoring (Choose One)

  1. 3

    For Chocolate Ice Cream

Add the cocoa powder to the chilled mixture and whisk until fully combined. Ensure there are no lumps.

  2. 4

    For Strawberry Ice Cream

Puree the fresh strawberries in a blender until smooth. Fold the strawberry puree into the chilled mixture gently until well combined.

Churning and Freezing

  1. 5

    Churn the Ice Cream

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  2. 6

    Freeze

Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
