Fettuccine Alfredo Ingredients

Method

Fettuccine Alfredo Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic (thinly sliced or minced) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 3

    Add Cream and Cheese

Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes. Then, gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Once the fettuccine is cooked, reserve about half a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. Add the drained fettuccine directly to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, and sprinkle chopped parsley on top for garnish. Serve warm, and enjoy your Fettuccine Alfredo!
