Lasagna Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

  2. 2

    Brown the Beef

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

While the sauce simmers, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Assembly Directions

  1. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). In a large baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom. Place a layer of lasagna noodles on top, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Provel cheese.

  2. 6

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the layers of meat sauce, noodles, and cheese until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

Baking Directions

  1. 7

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  2. 8

    Let it Rest

Remove from the oven and let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
