Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare or until they reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Bun and Toppings

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns and toast them on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Slice Toppings

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and red onion. Rinse the lettuce and pat dry.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Layer Ingredients

Place the cooked patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and pickles.

  2. 8

    Add the Top Bun

Finish by placing the top half of the bun over the toppings. Serve immediately.
