Beef Patty

Toppings

Condiments (optional)

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Grilling the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the desired doneness is reached.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Preparing Toppings

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.

  2. 5

    Building the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or skillet if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion rings, and any desired condiments. Top with the other half of the bun.
