Method

Burgers

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute to melt.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown. This adds flavor and keeps the buns from becoming soggy.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked beef patty, sliced tomato, and the top half of the bun.

Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 7

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, salt, and paprika until evenly coated.

  3. 8

    Bake the Fries

Spread the seasoned potato strips in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
