Method

Preparation of Shrimp

  1. 1

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a medium bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly and let marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Breading Setup

  1. 2

    Prepare Breading Stations

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. In the first dish, place the all-purpose flour. In the second dish, beat the eggs. In the third dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and salt.

Breading the Shrimp

  1. 3

    Coat the Shrimp

Remove the marinated shrimp from the bowl. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off excess, then dip them into the beaten eggs, and finally coat them in the spiced panko breadcrumb mixture. Place the breaded shrimp on a baking sheet.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the breaded spicy shrimp hot with your favorite dipping sauce and garnish with lemon wedges if desired.
