Method
Shrimp Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Shrimp
In a large bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Breading Process
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
Prepare three shallow dishes: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and dried thyme.
- 3
Coat the Shrimp
Remove the marinated shrimp from the refrigerator. One by one, dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally coat it in the panko breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Frying the Shrimp
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles and bubbles, it's ready.
