Beef Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Beef Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, approximately 3/4 inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until your desired doneness is reached. If using cheese, place it on the patties during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Burger Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Slice the tomato and onion into rings.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. Once toasted, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked beef patty, sliced tomato, and onion. Add ketchup and mustard if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
