Gravy Ingredients
Method
Gravy Directions
- 1
Prepare the Base
In a medium saucepan, collect the turkey drippings that were left after roasting the turkey. If you don’t have enough drippings, you can supplement with chicken broth.
- 2
Make a Roux
Add the unsalted butter to the saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, sprinkle in the all-purpose flour. Whisk continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture turns a light golden color.
- 3
Combine with Broth
Slowly whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to stir until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Season the Gravy
Add the soy sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
- 5
Finish with Fresh Herbs
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley for added flavor and a touch of color.
- 6
Serve
Transfer the gravy to a serving bowl or gravy boat. Serve warm alongside your roasted turkey or for dipping with subs.
