Method

Sandwich Preparation

1

Cook the Wagyu Beef

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Season the American Wagyu beef with black pepper on both sides. Cook the beef for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

2

Prepare the French Rolls

While the beef is resting, slice the French rolls in half lengthwise. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each half of the rolls.

3

Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the rested Wagyu beef thinly against the grain. Layer the sliced beef evenly onto the bottom half of each prepared roll. Top with 2 slices of Swiss cheese per sandwich. Place the top half of the rolls on each sandwich.

Au Jus Sauce Preparation

4

Make the Au Jus

In a small saucepan, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and allow it to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5

Serve

Pour the Au Jus into individual dipping bowls. Cut the assembled sandwiches in half and serve them alongside the hot Au Jus sauce for dipping.
