Mix the Meatball Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Shape the Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Add Tomatoes and Season
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh basil. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Slice the sub rolls in half. Place 3-4 meatballs on each roll and top with marinara sauce.
