Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in cooking the steak evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat over medium-high heat until it is very hot. This will help achieve a good sear on the steak.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Add the seasoned steaks to the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them to get a good sear. Flip the steaks and add the butter and rosemary to the pan.

  5. 5

    Baste the Steak

As the second side cooks for another 4-5 minutes, use a spoon to baste the melted butter over the steaks. This adds flavor and keeps them moist.

  6. 6

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C). Remove the steaks from the pan when they reach the desired doneness.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Transfer the steaks to a cutting board and let them rest for at least 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your perfectly cooked ribeye steak!
