Method

Burger Preparation

1

Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indent in the center to help them cook evenly.

3

Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the patty is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembly

4

Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

5

Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese. Add a slice of tomato and condiments of ketchup and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.

6

Serve

Serve the cheeseburgers immediately while hot with your favorite side dishes.
