Method

Preparing the Blackened Salmon

  1. 1

    Create the Spice Mix

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a spice blend.

  2. 2

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mix generously over both sides of the salmon fillets.

  3. 3

    Cook the Salmon

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned salmon fillets. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until the salmon is blackened and cooked through.

  4. 4

    Rest the Salmon

Once cooked, transfer the salmon to a plate and let it rest for a couple of minutes before assembling the sandwich.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the salmon is resting, toast the burger buns lightly on the skillet or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a slice of tomato and a slice of pickle.

  3. 7

    Add the Salmon

Place the blackened salmon fillet on top of the layered vegetables.

  4. 8

    Complete the Sandwich

Top with the other half of the bun and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
